Amazon Luna can be a great way to play games if you don’t have a console or a PC, and today the service is getting a little better with the addition of a bunch of new games. Amazon has officially announced that it has added games from the GOG store to its lineup, giving players more than 40 new titles to choose from. Keep in mind these are all titles you can stream over the internet so there’s no need for super powerful hardware.
In fact, it’s really easy to boot up a game on Luna with just a TV and a controller. Provided that your TV is supported and it’s connected to the internet. In addition to the new list of available games, Luna is expanding its region availability to new locations. Prior to today’s expansion, Luna has only been available in the US, Canada, UK, Italy, Spain, Germany, and France. But Amazon is rolling out the service to three new countries.
Additionally, there’s also a sale going on for GOG games that you can play on Luna. So if you’re looking for something new to play, now isn’t a bad time to consider picking up a game from GOG. All of the more than 40 games you can play on Luna are on sale, some of them for less than $2. For example, The Witcher Enhanced Edition and Whispering Willows are on sale for $1.49. Metro 2033 Redux is on sale for $1.99.
To play GOG games on Luna, you will need to buy or already own them
Amazon announced its partnership with GOG earlier this year. It also added the ability to buy games on the service back in 2023. So buying games on Luna is nothing new. What is new are the more than 40 games you can now buy from the GOG store to play on Luna across all your compatible devices. This includes games like Cuphead, The Witcher Enhanced Edition, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition, Hollow Knight, Stardew Valley, Blasphemous, and many more. You can find all of the available games here.
Interestingly, not all of CDPR’s games are available. Both the Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 are absent. Despite being made by CDPR which also operates GOG. Nevertheless, there’s a ton of other available options.
Luna expands to three new countries
Those in the US and a handful of other countries have been enjoying Luna for a while, but there are still plenty of places that don’t have access. That list has gotten a little shorter today and now includes three new countries. Joining the countries listed above are Poland, Austria, and the Netherlands.
Players in these countries can now sign up for Luna to play games. However, they will still need a subscription to access the service. That being said, if you’re an Amazon Prime member, you do get access to a few games at no additional charge. This includes Fortnite, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, LEGO Fortnite, and a “rotating selection of games each month,” Amazon says.
