The Samsung Galaxy S3 is a top selling device, even a year later. And the Galaxy S3 is heading to more and more carriers everyday. So we thought we’d take the time to put together a guide as to how to root your GT-I9300 Galaxy S3. This is the international version. So if you’re in the US, this won’t work for your device.

Before We Begin
- Be on stock Android 4.1.2 (Build XXEMD3)
- Download Samsung USB Drivers
- Disable Samsung KIES on your PC
- Make sure your phone has at least 50% battery left
- Download Odin3 v3.07
- Downlaod CF-Auto-Root File
Instructions
- Extract the contents of the CF-Auto-Root file you download above, so you get a file named “CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.tar.md5” without the quotes of course
- Extract Odin3 v3.07
- Power off your Galaxy S3
- Boot into download Mode (pressing the Power, Home and Volume Down buttons together)
- Launch Odin3 on your PC
- Connect your Galaxy S3 to your computer
- Wait for Odin to recognize your device
- Click the PDA button in Odin
- Find the ‘CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.tar.md5″ and load it into Odin
- Make sure that Re-Partition is disabled
- Click Start
- Once the root process is complete, Odin will say “PASS” and the phone will reboot
- You’re done once it’s done rebooting.
