There is an unannounced ASUS tablet at the Bluetooth SIG which is supposedly running Android 4.3, and the build is JWR11 which we’ve seen before from various leaks and rumors. The Bluetooth SIG shows that it was created on June 7th, last Friday, and it’s codenamed the K008 by ASUS. It also has a description of:
The tablet features a 7″ LED-backlit capacitive multitouch screen for easy carrying and fantastic multi-media experience everywhere. Wireless networking Ensures simple connection to the Internet without wires.
So it’s a 7-inch tablet. We know it’s not the new MeMo pad since that was already announced at Computex last week in Taipei. It could be a new Nexus 7, it could be a totally different ASUS tablet altogether. But the fact is, there’s another 7-inch tablet coming from ASUS. Now whether it’ll be a Nexus or not is still up in the air.
The current Nexus 7 that was announced last year at Google I/O is model number ME370T, which is quite different from the K008 of this device. But we’ve also seen the ME370T hit the Bluetooth SIG with build JWR11, and we’ve seen that build pinging our servers as well as other Android blog’s servers.
In addition, there is a 10-inch ASUS K008 tablet, which was spotted at the FCC not too long ago, which you can see the FCC image down below. So perhaps ASUS is working on a Nexus 7 and 10? It’s quite puzzling. But we are still expecting a Nexus 7 from ASUS and a Nexus 10 later this year from Samsung. We’ll be keeping an eye on this one.
How many of you “patiently” waiting for a new Nexus 7? What about a new Nexus 10? Let us know in the comments down below.
