To the many Galaxy Note owners out there; Samsung has not forgotten about you amidst all this Galaxy S III hoo-hah. In fact, they appear to have remembered you more so than usual. That’s right, one of the most powerful and largest phones of recent memory can now join the elusive and elite club of Android 4.0.
International Galaxy Note users – those of the HSPA+ variety – should be receiving updates over-the-air to bring their software builds to “XXLPY”. If you haven’t gotten it over-the-air it’s available through Samsung’s PC Software Kies. The update weighs in at over 300MB and brings all the Ice Cream Sandwich goodness, albeit still with Touchwiz in full force. As such, you won’t notice too much of a change to the overall UI however, Android 4.0 will bring improvements across the board and help to take better advantage of the power in the handset. Obviously, the new Roboto font from Android 4.0 will look stunning on that 1280×800 killer screen.
What is special about this update, however is the previously toted ‘Premium Suite’, which adds a fair bit of value to the already existing rich feature set of the Note. See the video below of what you can expect of the Android 4.0 update for the Galaxy Note.
