HTC is still a company that makes mobile devices, and the latest device to launch is the A101 Plus Android tablet which comes with a sizeable battery and a relatively low price. The A101 Plus is a slightly improved version of the A101 that was released back in 2022. And like that device, this is probably not going to launch in the US, or many countries for that matter. HTC has launched the device in Russia, though, and it’s also reportedly launching in other countries like South Africa. It looks like a solid budget tablet with some respectable specs.
There’s a dual camera setup on the back for taking pictures for starters. These are both 13MP camera sensors. However, it isn’t mentioned what sensors they are. On the front, HTC uses an 8MP selfie camera which can be used for video chat and taking selfies. The A101 Plus also has 8GB of RAM and it comes with 128GB of storage and a 7,000mAh battery capacity. It’s unclear how long that 7,000mAh capacity will last users. But, it wouldn’t be surprising if the battery lasted about as long as the one on the Galaxy Tab A9+, which has a 7,040mAh battery. It also has a 10.95-inch WUXGA IPS display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200.
The HTC A101 Plus tablet will launch in Russia for RUB 15,990
Since this tablet probably isn’t launching in the US, there’s no official US pricing. However, as noted by GSM Arena, the A101 Plus is launching in Russia for RUB 15,990, which is close to $175. That’s right around the same cost as the Galaxy Tab A9+ at $170. The two tablets have a lot of similar specs too, so this isn’t a surprising cost.
Other specs include support for 10W charging (nothing too wild), four speakers, and a Unisoc T606 chipset powering the computing. This chipset is used in a number of different mobile devices including the Motorola Moto G04, the Infinix Hot 40i, Tecno Pop 8, and many other similar entry-level devices. It’s also going to be powering the HMD Pulse Pro that was announced last month.
HTC likely won’t sell this in more than a few markets
HTC hasn’t released phones in the largest global markets in quite some time. Like the upcoming HTC U24 Pro, and the original A101 tablet, HTC is probably going to keep this to a few smaller markets. But for those who still love the HTC brand, there might be a chance to snag this device through import. The tablet is being launched in two colors, Gray and Silver, and should be available soon if it’s not already up for sale.
