Amazon now has a discount on the HyperX ChargePlay Duo controller dock where it’s now 39% off. The regular price for this accessory is $32.99. Right now, however, it can be yours for the low price of $19.99. There are a few reasons why we really like this dock and why you will too. For starters, the obvious part is that it charges two controllers at once. This dock is for the DualSense and the DualSense isn’t known for its long battery life.
This is why it’s always good to have a second controller on hand to keep charged up and ready to go. This dock becomes even more useful if you have a third controller. Because then you have two controllers charged up and ready to go if your main one dies. The ChargePlay Duo also has a weighted base. This is nice if you have ever used any other DualSense-compatible docks. Even the official Sony one that came out alongside the PS5 can be moved around a little too easily.
That being said, this is still an officially licensed accessory. HyperX designed this to be more compact so it fits better in tighter, smaller spaces. And it’ll definitely be more compact than some controller docks out there. If you have your PS5 and the controller dock on a smaller desk, you’ll appreciate the more compact size.
Another really nice feature is that this can be powered in two different ways. You can keep the included USB-C to USB-A cable plugged into your PS5 for power. But your PS5 must be in rest mode at all times for the power to continue flowing to the dock. Or you can plug the USB-A side of the cable into a wall adapter.
