Ice Cream Sandwich Anyone?

The general blogger consensus was that the next Android version after Honeycomb would be referred to as “Ice Cream”. It was a fair assumption because there aren’t any other tasty treats that start with the letter I that are as common.

Jason over at Tech Crunch heard from the father of Android, Andy Rubin, that it would be called “Ice Cream Sandwich.” This might be to make it easier to tell the Froyo and Ice Cream statues on Google’s campus apart, but it could also just be a favorite treat by the staff making it.

It’s seems a little too far ahead at this point to talk about that version of Android when currently only 1 phone officially has Gingerbread, but at least we know what we’ll be calling it when it is shown at Google I/O this year (if the rumors are true).
