Another budget phone from India-based Karbonn, the Titanium S25 Klick, made it to e-commerce listings earlier today. What’s funny is that the device is yet to be announced officially and it doesn’t even have a listing on the company’s official website (at the time of writing this article). The device is listed for an affordable INR 7,650, which is just a little over $120. Karbonn is also popular as the maker of the Sparkle V, which happens to be one among the first three Android One phones released. Speaking of Android One, the Titanium S25 Klick has the same quad-core 1.3GHz processor as the Android One sibling, but the make isn’t yet revealed. Let’s talk about the specifications in greater detail.
The device has a 5-inch 1280 x 720p display atop, with the aforementioned 1.3GHz quad-core CPU grunting underneath. Like I said, there’s no mention about the make of this chipset yet, but I don’t think I’d be wrong in assuming it to be the ever-so-popular MediaTek MT6582 chipset. The listing also doesn’t talk of the RAM capacity on the device, but again, looking at the $120 price, 2GB would be a far-fetched idea. It’ll most probably be 1GB, but we’ll wait for an official word from the OEM before saying anything more.
Besides that, it’ll have a 2000mAh battery , a 13 MP shooter on the rear and a 5 MP one on the front. Thanks to the budget constraint, the S25 Klick won’t have suuport for 4G LTE networks out of the box, but a silver lining (for optimists) could be the existence of Android v4.4 KitKat that the phone runs out of the box. Quite lot of MediaTek phones are still stuck on Android Jelly Bean, and the S25 Klick is, in a way, a breath of fresh air. Karbonn is expanding its wings, so don’t be surprised if you see the device make it to other markets, the Android One phone that Karbonn makes recently made it to the UK market, making it the first Android One phone to be made available outside of India.
