If you’re an LG Ally user then you’ll be happy to hear that your New Year will be starting out with an OS update.
A moderator over at the LG forums has confirmed that Android 2.2 will be coming to the device in February of 2011.
The big question, however, is if this update will include Flash, which is one of the main benefits of Froyo aside from the speed optimization. The Ally’s internals include a 600 MHz processor, which doesn’t meet the minimum requirements for running Adobe’s Flash Player. Currently, Adobe’s Flash Player needs at least an 800 MHz processor, so unless a solution can be worked out (maybe a stripped-down version of Flash) the Ally might be left out when it comes to Flash-based web content.
