There’s been a lot of hype recently about Kit-Kat, especially with Motorola’s Moto X having already received it on many networks, as well as their new Droid lineup slated to get it soon. Along with those, and the Nexus and Google Play Edition lineups, not too much focus has been given to the souls who’re still waiting for Android 4.3 to grace their daily drivers.
Such has been the case with Verizon’s HTC One, who is the latest victim of Verizon’s (thought to be extinct) slow but thorough update process. No longer is that the case however, according to Verizon and Android Central. The HTC One on Verizon’s LTE network is officially receiving the OTA Update from Verizon’s servers, and comes with a host of bug fixes and additional features (thankfully only one of which involves Bloatware) for the Phone. While this is all well and good, it’s important to note that some HTC Ones (the Developer Edition and Google Play Edition) are already getting 4.4, but nonetheless this is a step in the right direction. Take a look at the change list:
Increased charging speed when using Mophie Juicepack power station
Corrected faint ringing noise from earpiece
Play purchased ringtones
Connection error fixed in the HTC Watch application
View the correct date using the all day calendar reminder
Conjunction words are better recognized on device keyboard
Backup Assistant performance
VZ Cloud App is now preloaded
Back up contacts, photos, text messages and call logs
Transfer that content to your new phone or if other is lost/stolen
Not the biggest list in the world, but as mentioned earlier, there is a very obvious lack of bloatware changes, which is definitely a good thing. Besides what’s already listed, you’ll be able to add your own music to Video Highlights in the Gallery, something that I’m sure people have been looking forward to for a while.
