One UI 7.0 beta release may be delayed, Samsung still has work to do

Hold your horses, Samsung folks! The Android 15-based One UI 7.0 beta update may not arrive on Monday. And it might be a blessing in disguise. A reliable industry insider says the current One UI 7.0 build is buggy and highly unstable, so much so that it is “almost unusable”. The company probably won’t release it without further stability boost, which may not happen early next week. Among other things, the update will bring massive camera improvements to the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Samsung still has a lot of work to do before the One UI 7.0 beta release

One UI 7.0 is Samsung’s Android 15 custom skin. It will bring tons of new features, visual enhancements, and performance improvements to Galaxy devices. Leaks have already revealed the company’s redesigned Quick Panel, redesigned app icons, and other UI elements. The update will roll out to eligible Galaxy smartphones, tablets, and foldables later this year. Ahead of that, Samsung will launch public beta programs for real-world testing of the new features to iron out bugs.

Rumors say the Korean firm plans to start beta testing One UI 7.0 at the end of July or in early August. Some sources even claimed that the first beta update will arrive as early as July 29, i.e., the coming Monday. However, that is looking unlikely if Ice Universe is accurate. The ever-reliable tipster says the current One UI 7.0 beta build is full of bugs and too unstable for Samsung to release it. The company might take its time to quash more annoying bugs before entering the beta stage.

Interestingly, the same source originally said One UI 7.0 would arrive later than expected. They didn’t specify whether the beta program would start late, if the stable update would be delayed, or both. Since the first One UI 6.0 beta arrived in mid-August, Samsung still appears to be on track for a similar release timeline this year. If One UI 7.0 beta starts in the first half of August, we might get a stable build by the end of October. The Galaxy S24 series should receive the update first.

Major camera improvements for the Galaxy S24 Ultra

Since One UI 7.0 is a major update, there is a lot to talk about. But Galaxy S24 Ultra users would love to hear that the update might finally unlock the true potential of their phone’s camera. Ice Universe says Samsung has “significantly optimized” the 1x and 5x 50MP camera modes of the new flagship with One UI 7.0. The output matches the visual experience of 12MP shots while offering higher clarity. The Galaxy S24 Ultra will also get notable camera improvements with the August update.
