For a few years, Google has been incentivizing people to spend money on the Play Store through its Play Points program. This is a system that can earn you some discounts on purchases and games, but the company just announced something great. Along with that, the company announced that Play Points can actually win you Pixel devices and more.

In case you don’t know what Play Points are, here’s a quick refresher. Every time you make a purchase on the Google Play Store, you earn a certain amount of points. The bigger the purchase, the more points you earn. You can use these points for certain perks like Google Play Store credit (100 points is equal to $1), coupons to use in specific apps, chests within certain apps, and other perks. Check out your Play Points to see what perks you can get.

As you earn more play points, you move up in ranking. You start off as a Bronze member, but you make your way through the Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond tier.

Recently, Google revealed some great new features coming to The Google Play Store like a new AI experience. Along with the new stuff, the company talked about some of the stuff you can get with your Play Points.

Starting off, if you don’t make a lot of purchases on the Google Play Store, let’s not waste your time. These prizes only apply to those with a Gold, Platinum, or Diamond tier. If you’re one of those members, you should check your Perks tab.

You will see physical prizes like Razer gaming gear, VIP passes to events, and even Pixel devices. Just know that prizes like these will require a ton of Play Points. Silver members can get a Pokemon Go hat, and even that costs 2,500 Play Points. So, a multi-hundred-dollar Pixel device will run you quite a bit.

In any case, this is something to look forward to if you’re an avid app player… or if you’re just a whale. This is initially launching in the U.S., Great Britain, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. It will be making its way to other markets as time goes on.
