If you’re a rooted Captivate with Rogers Wireless prepare yourself for things to get a lot more stable.  If you’re a Developer then it’s time to get in the kitchen and start cooking.

Samsung has just placed the code for the Rogers Wireless Captivate Android 2.2 (Froyo) update into their Open Source Release Center for the World to use. Why is this good you ask? Because, when a manufacturer releases the source code for a device it allows developers to flawlessly integrate the device hardware into their software so that you the hardware works as well as the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) intended, and in some cases better than the OEM intended.

If you want to check it out for yourself just to see what code looks like, or if you need to start merging it with your code then click here to head on over to Samsung’s OSRC, go to the phones section and search for, or scroll down to, ‘SGH-i896’ and grab the .pdf.
