Tomorrow will be exactly 6 months since Samsung brought their first Galaxy S line of phones stateside on T-Mobile’s network in the form of the Samsung Vibrant. It’ll also be the day that the Vibrant is updated to Android 2.2 (Froyo). It’s been delayed time and time again and even promised, but this time seems to be official as it comes from T-Mobile’s Chief Marketing Officer – Cole Brodman. In speaking with PC Magazine this afternoon he told them that the Vibrant Froyo update was delayed because of a, “quality control and timing issue.” Whether this is just a marketing cover-up for, “we needed time to bring T-Mobile specific features, and had problems with previous updates” is beyond us, but at least they finally have it figured out seem to be getting it right. Mr. Brodman also promised that T-Mobile will be pushing their Android updates in a more timely matter from here on out, and are planning to update all their Android phones to new versions within five months of Google making their source code available. Only thing left to do now is wait for Samsung/other carriers to bring us news as to when the other Galaxy S variants will be getting their delicious Froyo.
