Motorola has officially announced the Moto G Stylus 5G 2024, focusing on an improved stylus experience for users alongside a handful of other upgrades. The Moto G Stylus line has always been about taking advantage of creativity whenever the moment strikes. You get an idea, you jot it down with the phone’s trusty stylus hidden in the frame of the phone. There aren’t too many other Android devices out there that come with their own stylus.
And of the ones that are available, one in particular stands out more than others. Samsung’s Galaxy S series Ultra models. Those are also many hundreds more than what you’ll pay for a Moto G Stylus phone. In addition to the improved stylus with easier access to its features, Motorola is hoping the affordable price point will make people stand up and take notice. And at a starting cost of $399.99, people are no doubt going to take notice.
The Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 is the phone for the creative deal seeker
If you’re a deal seeker, then you no doubt look for phones that won’t put a lockdown on your wallet for the foreseeable future. The Moto Stylus 5G 2024 is designed to be that phone. A phone that won’t break the bank but doesn’t compromise on style or functions.
The stylus is the focal point here but not the only area where Motorola made some improvements. For the stylus, the company says users will have easier access to the stylus features thanks to an updated UI. There’s also a really neat feature that brings up a user’s favorite apps as soon as they pop the stylus out of the phone. So they’re ready to go as soon as they have the pen in hand.
Additionally, users can take advantage of features like optical character recognition to “extract text” from written or printed documents.
The phone comes with pretty decent specs for the price
With a phone as inexpensive as the Moto G Stylus 5G 2024, you might expect it to harbor some bottom-of-the-bin specifications. That isn’t really the case though. While nothing in these phones is going to be a flagship, the specs are nothing to scoff at. The Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 mobile platform, with 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage. The phone also has a microSD card slot for expandable storage and it will support up to 2TB cards. So you have plenty of room for anything you need.
In terms of the display, Motorola is using a 6.7-inch pOLED display with a 2,400 x 1,800 resolution. It also has a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling. And this isn’t something to be understated given that many phones around this price range would have lower refresh rates. To keep the value aspect going, the Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 comes with a large 5,000mAh capacity battery and it supports Motorola’s 30W Turbo Charging. Plus, it features an IP52 water-repellant design and it has dual stereo speakers that support Dolby Atmos. And if you prefer headphones, the phone even comes with a 3.5mm audio port. This is a rare thing these days.
When it comes to the camera the phone carries a dual-camera design on the back. This is comprised of a 50MP main camera and a 13MP ultra-wide angle lens. There’s also a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies and video chat. The Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 goes on sale May 30 starting at $399.99. You’ll be able to pick it up unlocked from Best Buy, Amazon, and Motorola’s website in Carmel Latte or Scarlet Wave colors.
Customers will also be able to purchase the unlocked phone from Walmart. As well as numerous carriers in the US including Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, Cricket, Boost Mobile, Visible, Google Fi, Straight Talk, Consumer Cellular, USCellular, Spectrum, Xfinity Mobile, and Optimum Mobile. Availability from Walmart and carriers will be in the coming weeks.
