The Xiaomi 15 Pro is tipped to be lighter despite the fact it will include a lot bigger battery. This information comes from Digital Chat Station, one of the most prominent tipsters from China.
The Xiaomi 15 Pro will be lighter, but include a considerably larger battery
The tipster said that the Xiaomi 15 Pro will weigh 220 grams while being 8.5mm thick. An earlier report stated that a 6,000mAh battery will be used. Just to be clear, Digital Chat Station didn’t mention that part now.
As a reminder, the Xiaomi 14 Pro is 8.5mm thick, while it weighs 223 or 230 grams, depending on the variant. It includes a 4,880mAh battery. So, if the rumors end up being true, the Xiaomi 15 Pro will have the same thickness, be lighter, and offer a lot more battery capacity.
Some of you may wonder how is this possible. Well, thanks to silicon-carbon batteries, most of all. Proper engineering is also required, though, of course, to make all that fit on the inside.
The device will almost certainly launch in October
The Xiaomi 15 Pro is expected to arrive in a couple of months. The Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro will almost certainly launch in October. That’s when the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be presented, and these two phones will be amongst the first to use it.
The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro arrived in October last year, so it fits. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will likely arrive at a later date, as did the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
It’s also worth noting that the Xiaomi 14 Pro did not make it to global markets, but the Xiaomi 14 and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra did. It remains to be seen if the same will be the case this year too.
The Xiaomi 15 Pro will be a truly powerful, flagship device. It’s expected to include a large display and a Leica-powered camera setup on the back. Plenty of top-notch RAM and storage will be included too, along with blazing fast wired and wireless charging.
